Calvary has gone to the dogs!!!

Last Sunday Calvary had some very special visitors…

Over 30 different breeds of canines came to the sanctuary for a special blessing done by Rev. Larry! The group was from the local Human Society on the northside.  We were more than happy to have them stop at Calvary UMC during their walk to raise money for animals and people with Cancer.

Calvary’s Bible Study- Thursday Nights @6:30pm

483769_557206790979509_222545521_nBegins September 12 thru October 31

This study approaches the Hebrew Scriptures by inviting participants to hear the story of God and God’s calling of the people of Israel through the many “voices” of the biblical text.  Narrative, poem, history, and prophetic utterance all have their own distinctive characteristics and purpose, arising out of a particular historical, social, and cultural setting.  To understand fully the story of God’s covenantal relationship with Israel calls for listening to these various ways the story is told throughout the Old Testament.  The study includes a participant book, small group discussions and a video component.  Come and join us!  Questions?
